This War of Mine

This War of Mine is a survival game by the Polish studio 11 bit studios, released on November 14, 2014 for PC and later brought to consoles and phones. It puts the player in charge of civilians, not soldiers, in a besieged city: scavenging at night, keeping a shelter alive by day, and deciding what a person will do to survive.

CRIT6 looked at where the game came from: the survivor's account of the siege of Sarajevo that started it, Sniper Alley and the night runs that shaped its design, and the studio's turn from arcade games to a story about ordinary people in a war.
